I currently serve as senior policy analyst at the Rockefeller Institute of Government having previously been a postdoc in the Department of Education at Brown University. I have a PhD in Economics from Cornell University.

An economist by training, my research focuses on using the tools of economics and econometrics to evaluate and design effective and equitable public policy for New York and the nation as a whole. Recently I have focused on policies aimed at increasing teacher effectiveness including principal hiring autonomy in the Boston Public Schools, teacher looping in Tennessee, and teacher job transfer and skill acquisition in Tennessee.
